Parthenos sylvia
This series of photos was taken on my second visit to the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado. Couldn't resist going again!
I agree that they are very similar, but as long as you do not know the exact provenance I still think you should not add the subspecies. I do not have much confidence on the IDs of butterflies provided from the butterfly park itself or by the photographer, since the have a lot of changes in dealers from outside or from other butterfly houses. The Blue Clipper Parthenos sylvia lilacinus is the most common one found in butterfly houses. It might be a pragmatic way to ID, but it is in my eyes not serious enough.
I am not sure if this really is the subspecies Violacea. In butterfly houses usually the most common ones are the Brown Clipper Philippinensis and Blue Clipper Lilacinus. If the source of pupa is not definitely known one can not say from where exactly this pupa is coming from. I think it is not possible to ID this down to subspecies, I would just note: Blue Clipper, Parthenos sylvia.
True thanks to Karen who find exact specie... I did not checked the description of butterfly Garden and trying to know American Swallowtails. This Asian Brush footed is awesome in wings design.
Oh its Malaysian Blue Clipper (Parthenos sylvia violacea)and in Nymphaladiae family or Brush footed butterflies. Its very similar in wings design and shape of Papilio polymnestor butterfly.
