Small clumps of dry rock moss surrounded by crustose lichens (Caloplaca sp.).
Spotted on exposed boulders next to Lake Abert in southeastern Oregon. Elevation of 4260 ft. It colonizes on a variety of surfaces including rocks, concrete, and tree trunks.
