Tiny owl with brown streaks. Head is large and round and lacks ear tufts that many owls have.

In a residential area in the mountains.

Thanks Joshua! This guy had been hanging out in the same tree for the past 2 weeks, and I was taken right to that tree. Only way I was able to see him, would have never found him without the help of the guy that knew where he was hanging out at!

Congratulations on spotting it in the daylight! We have them around here; I hear the call that earned them our name "the back-up owl" (sounds like a truck safety beep when they're backing up). Never actually seen them, though.
