Aberrant Oakblue

Arhopala abseus amphea

Description:

Arhopala abseus (Hewitson, 1862) (Lycaenidae; Lycaeninae; Theclini), the Aberrant Oakblue or Aberrant Bushblue, differs from other species of Arhopala in having a short white-tipped tail at vein 3 of the hindwing, besides a normal tail. The male is a deep lustrous blue above, with dark borders.

Habitat:

Makiling Botanic Gardens, a forest park of the Mt. Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (adjacent or within the UPLB-College of Forestry and Natural Resources), University of the Philippines at Los Baños, Laguna.
