Tenodera aridifolia sinensis
The English common name for any species in the order is "praying mantis",because of the typical "prayer-like" attitude with folded fore-limbs, although the eggcorn "preying mantis" is sometimes used in reference to their predatory habits
Seen near Ashtamudi Lake.
Seen by me and clicked by my father using my phone.

This is a beautiful little Mantis. I think this is actually Genus Humbertiella (Bark Mantis). I am not sure of the species.
Tenodera aridifolia sinensis (or the Chinese Mantis) is much longer in the thorax and differently shaped over all. Your mantis is solid brown with some patterning on the legs. Tenodera aridifolia sinensis is usually bright green or brown with green on the edge of the front wings.

I am having a difficult time finding appropriate references for your area for Mantids but you might have more luck since you live there. I hope this helps!
