False Hemlock Looper

Description:

The False Hemlock Looper, Nepytia canosaria, is characterized by a yellow marking on the head, seen in the second photo. It cannot be confused with any other species in the Northeastern US, except for the more dully marked Nepytia pellucidaria.

Habitat:

Larvae feed on leaves of a variety of coniferous trees
