Carpodacus mexicanus
Female: Brown with a heavily streaked white chest. Male: Orangy-red face and chest, brown makings behind the eyes, brown wings streaked with white. A white belly with brown streaks. Birds grow to 5 inches in length. There is also a yellow male.
Live in urban areas in flocks utilizing bird feeders and like hanging around flower baskets.
