Dovefoot geranium

Geranium molle

Description:

Dovefoot geranium is all over the place here! It's usually sprawling in large patches in grass. I found this individual interesting, though, because it has several bright red leaves. I've read that the leaves can sometimes turn red in stressful conditions, but it's the middle of an early spring here and everything has a lot of moisture and doing well, and it hasn't been very cold, so I don't know what's up with this particular geranium. Maybe it's being over-crowded or something. Edit: Now that I've seen about a million of these, the red leaf thing is pretty common, it seems like.

Habitat:

Urban front yard.
