Handsome Fungus Beatle

Description:

This is a Handsome Fungus Beatle that i found on the wall of my house. It is black in color, and it has 2 yellow spots on its thorax. The size of this beetle is about 8-10 mm in length. This one has 2 phoretic mites on its back.

Habitat:

- Spotted on the wall of my house.

- Pleasing Handsome Beetle is a beatle from the Endomychidae family. Thanks to Michael Geiser and Floyd W. Shockley for the ID.

I think, these are a phoretic (commensalism) mites. Someone said that these mites are obligate inhabitants of decaying wood, and are commonly phoretic on mycophagous beetles...
