Brazilian lady

vanessa braziliensis

Description:

The Vanesa butterfly is a very common butterfly in Uruguay. It can easily be recognized because of the patterns on its wings and colors. It is between 45 and 60 mm big.

Habitat:

It is found around Uruguay. This one in particular was spotted at school were many of them seem to be flying around. We have seen many caterpillars which we still have to deduce if they become a Vanesa butterfly.

Notes:

Beautiful and very lively butterfly which seem to hover from one colorful flower to the other; it seem to prefer bright yellow flowers.
