Spotted Tussock Moth Caterpillar

Lophocampa maculata

Description:

Black and yellow 'furry' body with longer white 'furry' spikes.

Habitat:

This one was found beside my house. However I have seen them all around the city. Mostly I have have found them around grass rich areas.

Notes:

Rumor says these caterpillars are associated with the change of season and only appear when fall/winter weather is coming soon.
