Mourning Cloak

Nymphalis antiopa

Description:

Butterfly, black/brown with grey edging. Not afraid if something comes near as most other butterflies I've encountered.

Habitat:

This area is known for eratic weather where it could snow anytime of year yet the summers easily reach 40 deg cel. We live in a quiet subdivision across from a large field and surround by forest.
