Silver Leaved Horsenettle

Solanum elaeagnifolium

Description:

Purple flower with five yellow stamens and a pistil in the center. The leaves are silver in color and wavy along the edges. The stems are full of brown needles. There were a lot of these plants and ranged from 35-38 cm tall.

Habitat:

Under oak trees, deep in a canyon previously burnt in a wildfire. This plant is not native and is "classified by the California Department of Food and Agriculture as a Noxious Weed List B: Control required in nurseries, control elsewhere at the discretion of local County Agricultural Commissioner." - CalFlora

I was hiking with a group so I couldn't stop long for pics. Aka Prairie Berry, Silverleaf Nettle, White Horsenettle or Silver Nightshade
