Eastern Least Clubtail

Stylogomphus albistylus

Description:

Very small black and yellow clubtail. The thorax is striped with split middorsal, two shoulder and two lateral black stripes. It has green eyes. S9 and 10 are black and these have white cerci, not many of the clubtails do.

Habitat:

Small to medium streams in forests with rocky or sandy substrate.

Notes:

The above pictured individual is teneral and has just recently emerged. Note how shiny the wings are. This is one way to tell a teneral individual.
