Southern Evening Darner- ♂

Telephlebia brevicauda

Description:

A robust looking brown dragonfly with pale tinted wings and dark brown leading edges. Pterostigma were cream coloured. The long abdomen was brown with pale triangular lateral patches. Eyes were shades of brown.

Habitat:

Spotted in the evening, resting on pavement after a warm day. Reportedly seen in accumulated detritus and sediment along streams and alpine bogs. Also seen flying actively at dusk or resting on asphalt for warmth.

Notes:
