Bold Jumper/Daring Jumping Spider, female

Phidippus audax

Description:

Medium sized Jumping Spider. Brownish coloration with bright orange markings on dorsal abdomen. Reddish-brown banding on legs. Bright metallic green mandibles. This species is usually black with white and gray markings.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden.

Notes:

This spider has odd coloration for it's species. It is most likely an atypical variation, though I haven't found many that look exactly like this one. She may be a juvenile. For images of other atypical variations of this species: http://bugguide.net/node/view/35320/bgim...
