Description:

Brown colored moth, with 2 black spots on each wings. It settled on the trolley which was going thru Kurobe Gorge between Unazukionsen station and Keyaki Dairo Station in Japan northern alps.

Probably Saturnia (Rinaca) japonica

actually have been combing the intranet before i posted it unnamed. also not sure what kind of moths are these 2. thanks for the info.

Welcome! Unfortunately I couldn't get closer than the family. There is not much about Japanese moths around and if you do not know the genus already it is quite time consuming checking all saturniids from a region. It is quite a long distance picture, so spots, lines and other markings are not easy to see.
