Fuligo septica
This was soft like a marshmellow. I wondered if it might contain some insects' eggs.
Found on a tree trunk in a forest on Cyprus Mountain...
Okay then, those spottings look more like it. And especially if you have seen it before and it felt like marshmallow. Thanks... ID confirmed I think.
The slime mould mission closed, it seems...
I agree with J. They aren't slimy, slime mold is just a common name and not necessarily due to the texture.
Both times I have seen it, it had a very spongy, marshmallowy texture.

@J, not totally convinced it is dog slime, it was soft and squidgy to the touch, just like marshmallow, not slimy at all. And maybe not quite such a bright yellow. The way it was stuck onto the rock seemed to suggest an egg sack of some creature. But I don't know. Never seen anything like it before!
Unfortunately the picture is a little blurry. It was in a very dark place.
Nice spotting! I think this may be Fuligo septica, but you may want to look into confirming it. http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/fuligo-sep...
