Although Zingiber zerumbet is probably native to the southern India, Malaysia and Thailand area, It's widely cultivated. It also looks like Alpinia ginosa 'Jungle King' A common cut flower produced in Hawaii or possibly a Costus species but yeah a ginger for sure.
