Discoloration caused by nitrogen deficiency usually attacks the lower and older leaves. This whiteness was on the upper and newest and most tender leaflets. Chlorophyll deficiency usually is a genetic condition whereas nitrogen deficiency would be due to lack of nitrogen in the ground.
However I just saw a few leaflets that were white. Maybe they were the only ones deprived of nitrogen ?
