Noisy Miner

Manorina melanocephala

Description:

a bird in the honeyeater family, Meliphagidae, and is endemic to eastern and south-eastern Australia. This miner is a grey bird, with a black head, orange-yellow beak and feet, a distinctive yellow patch behind the eye and white tips on the tail feathers. A very aggressive territorial bird with various breeding strategies to increase there breeding succes which has lead to an over population of these birds

Habitat:

I saw this very tame individual Noisy Miner at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney today. It seems to be completely unnerved by the close presence of humans, and allowed me to get very close to it to take photos

Thank you Felix. It was a surprise that it was so unbothered by humans being around it :-)
