Downy Woodpecker

Picoides pubescens

Description:

There were two woodpeckers spending some time up in the pine trees together. The one in photos 2-6 was pecking vigorously at the tree, making quite a bit of noise (at least by a Downy Woodpecker's standards).

Habitat:

Sandy pine and oak trail on a pine tree
