Megarhyssa macrurus
fairly large insect almost 2 inches, with an equally long ovipositor, which appeared to be inserted inside her abdomen. It forms the loop at the end which grew as I watched and was filled with a liquid.
Mixed woods

This is an Ichneumonid wasp, and is introducing the ovipositor for parasiting larvae inside the wood
