Polistes stigma
spotted inside a school campus (urban area)
Thanks Agnes!
Hi Noel - Here is my spotting of a similar paper wasp (all markings are the same as your spotting): http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/147.... The species nearest is Polistes stigma (distributed to much of Asia): http://vespa-bicolor.net/main/vespid/pol..., http://gvcocks.homeip.net/Hymenoptera/Ve.... Polistes chinensis (distributed mostly in East Asia) does not match our spottings: http://australianmuseum.net.au/image/Pap....
Thanks again Ashish!
Agree with Agnes... Noel check what is Polistes chinensis
Agnes, am not 100% on this. I still have to do some work to confirm this one. Thanks for the assist :-)
