The rut is on...in the North Carolina mountains! Elk were reintroduced to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We were surrounded by photographers with expensive cameras and all we had was an iPhone. My son improvised by holding his phone up to my binoculars to get these shots

Wow, cool! I didn't know there were elk in NC either.
I didn't know there were elk in North Carolina! Great series with the limited equipment you had. You could also add this to the animals of North Carolina mission since they're here.
