Description:

A regular at my koi pond. It is not a bullfrog though.

Habitat:

Pond and creek habitat in plant city Florida. October 7th.

This is a southern leopard frog. They are readily distinguishable by there pointed heads, yellowish spot in middle of tympanum and yellowish upper lip line. Not all leopard frogs have spotting and the southern have less spotting than the northern species.

looks like a Bronze frog (Rana clamitans clamitans) but not sure if they go that far down in Florida. I would have said Pig frog but it doesn't have the lateral line fold like in the photo.
