The Crowned Eagle is Africa's most powerful raptor regularly killing monkeys and other large mammals. This young bird has recently left its nest and is beginning to learn how to hunt.

A sad end to a beautiful bird. This series will help the remaining birds, I'm sure.
Sadly this beautiful young Crowned Eagle was shot and killed by a hooligan with a pellet gun soon after it left its nesting area. The police are investigating but no arrests have been made yet.
