Chlorosplenium Cup Fungus

Chlorosplenium sp.

Description:

Tiny, yellow cup fungus that really stood out in the autumn landscape! The centers were cream colored-pale yellow and the outsides were darker yellow. Sizes ranged from 1-2mm.

Habitat:

Growing gregariously on well-decayed, decorticated conifer wood.

Notes:

Could be either Chlorosplenium hypochlorum or Chlorosplenium chlora.
