Hedychium coronarium
White petals with long peristils similar in form to a butterfly. It has a soft sweet aroma that is strongest at dusk-night. The flowers are in clusters.

The Mariposa is the national flower of Cuba. During the independence wars of the early 1900's the Cuban grocers used them as their sign among them.
