Glassy Cutworm

Description:

The Glassy cutworm occurs from Canada to NJ and west to the pacific. It feeds on roots and lower stems of grasses. It is single brooded and overwinters as partially grown larva. The first moth of spring.

Notes:

I had to rescue 4 of these moths from inside the maple syrup containers hung from the trees.
