White Bunny Orchid

Eriochilus dilatatus

Description:

A common coastal white bunny orchid 100 -300mm high with a single, , relatively narrow, smooth, flattened leaf 40-100mm long with up to seven white , red and mauve marked flowers, 10 - 12mm across. It has the largest leaf of this species growing in Western Australia.

Habitat:

Found in coastal areas between Dirk Hartog Island and Israelite Bay , growing in woodlands, shrublands and shallow soil pockets on granite outcrops. Named in 1839.
