Eastern Boxelder Bug

Description:

Boisea Trivittata Arthropod of the hemiptera order(true bugs, cicadas, hoppers, aphids, and allies). Suborder: true bugs

Habitat:

Mixed forests and meadows

Notes:

Like to migrate indoors during fall season for hibernation. Generally harmless, though can be a nuisance as they leave spots on furniture. Trivittatus is Latin for 'three-stripped', named for the distinctive stripes on its pronotum(back area)

Hi Caelith, Keith has got the right ID here, so that's awesome! Boxelder bugs aren't beetles (though they do kinda look like them!), so you'll need to take this spotting out of the Beetles mission :) Also, insects are Arthropods, so could you re-categorise this from Other for us? Thanks, and welcome to Project Noah! Hope we can see a lot more insects and other critters from you :)
