Mandarin Duck

Notes:

I found this Mandarin Duck at a pond surrounded by Mallards and Canada Geese...must be a stray from somewhere because Colorado is not his native range!! He sure is a beauty, but probably is lonely...I didn't see a female anywhere!! There are introduced populations in different places around the world, but I had never seen one here in Colorado.

Thanks, matimar...I am aware there are mallards in the mix, but this is a spotting for the Mandarin Duck. I have a separate spotting of the mallard. Thanks for the comment!

Congratulations Christy on your SOTD! Nicely done! These ducks are often kept by zoos, parks and farms here in the U.S. So sorry he does not have a mate though.
