Blumenavia racodes or clathrus

Description:

Orange, spongy, with plenty of gnats around. Couldn't smell any particularly bad odor but found after heavy rains.

Habitat:

Found in low-lying sandy and leafy debris on area that had been logged the previous year. Southeast Louisiana.

Notes:

Not entirely sure which fungi this is, so any decision appreciated.
