Northern Short Tailed Shrew

Blarina brevicauda

Description:

Believe he/she is a shrew, found the little guy hiding from my dog Bella. We put him/her in box to keep away from her until we found a better spot. We found one later in the woods in our back yard :) Very soft fur, long white teeth, short tail, and fit within my palm.

Habitat:

Found near a wooded area near our home.

Notes:

It was very sweet and pretty calm all things considered. Probably should not have, but the three of us (my brothers and I) all felt her fur. Very soft and did not really move much when being touched. Very long white front teeth and tiny feet. Hope the tiny fluff made it okay after we let it go!
