Chipping Sparrow

Spizella passerina

Description:

Tiny grayish colored bird with a bright tuff of red feathers on top of head. I assumed to be female bird, but could be wrong. Very small nest with four, tiny blue and black speckled eggs.

Habitat:

Ashville, Ohio Specifically wooded areas near houses. Nested within a vine.

Notes:

The bird had no issue with me getting close, until I brought out a camera.
