Pigeon Pea

Cajanus cajan

Description:

Shrub or small tree that produces pods with small brown peas that are yummy. Used often on Caribbean cooking.

Habitat:

This is actually three plants growing very close together in my garden. I did not realize they would get so big or I would have planted them on another location!

Notes:

The seeds these are grown from were given to me for free by a vendor at my local farmers market. It was over a year from when I planted them until the first flowers.
