Noctuid moth

Anuga sp.

Description:

I'm pretty excited!!! I've never seen this before: a moth launching himself for takeoff - 1st photo. It's like he does a somersault... Or a sideways roll! Seconds before that he was whirring his wings - 2nd photo - so I knew he was about to leave… 3rd photo: his original position on the wall.

Habitat:

Hills overlooking Manila.

Notes:

Wingspan approx. 3.5 cm / 1.4 inches.
