This beetle was found near a neighborhood pool in New Kent, VA. It was about 2 - 3 inches long in height, and about an inch or 1/2 an inch in width. Measurements are not definite because there were no tools to properly measure the specimen.
Appears to be a Ground Beetle, possibly a member of the Chlaenius genus.
