Tarantula

not TO scary!

I hope! Scaring would be knowing that somewhere outside of your bed is something scaring and you need to go to the toilet and you forgot your flashlight and boots outside...

I think you are pretty close with , Cyrtopholis rams, bayucca .It was quite dark and the flash distorts the colour somewhat . I will wait to see if anyone else has any thoughts ,thanks again.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions .I would settle for a Tarantula in my room ,over a large centipede any day bayucca ,that must have been scary.

Caleb, your suggestion is more purple than brown and has a much more patterned cephalothorax. Please refrain from making ID suggestions unless you are relatively confident you are correct. Making "something to build on" suggestions can very easily lead other users to incorrect IDs. Thanks.

What are you doing, when a tarantula is waiting for you in front of your hut and the space between floor and door is wider than the body of the tarantula? Happened to me in Ecuador. We closed the space with a towel only to notice the next morning we had a much more dangerous centipede in our room...
