The flowers don't look right for Spiranthes diluvialis, and as you mentioned, it is very far out of range http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symb...
Nearly all the species are found near ponds. It is probably vernalis, laciniata, or another one that is in the correct range.

Machi, I was looking at the different species of the Spiranthes and some are showing vulnerable and imperiled. Is it possible it's diluvialis? It would be out of it's range but the habitat is right.

It has a habit like a gladiolus. Pretty little wildflower.
