Japanese Parasol Mushroom

Parasola plicatilis

Description:

Three gray mushrooms, becoming lighter toward cap margins. Largest cap ~ 50 mm in diameter, flat to slightly conical, thin, plicate; centers reddish brown, slightly sunken. Caps of all three fruiting bodies in advanced state of deterioration. Stems ~ 5 mm diameter, ~ 65 mm height, equal, white. Gills gray, close, free.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted in a common area next to a driveway. Synonym: Coprinus plicatilis.
