Cassia bicapsularis

Description:

Yellow flowers with 5 petals growing on a bush. They have an interesting curved stamen that changes color from yellow to brown.

Notes:

This is an excellent host plant for the Sulphur butterfly. It blooms in winter unlike its cousin the Easter Cassia which blooms in spring.

That was a really good tip. I researched Cassia a little more and since this was blooming in the late fall I am thinking it is actually a Winter Cassia (aka cassia bicapsularis) which looks pretty much the same but does not bloom in spring. What do you think?
