Nature School For Teachers - Fall 2020 Launch!
yes Bayucca, there are no objection to it. :))
Aha, ID confirmed ;-)...
Thank you Bayucca for the ID and the information.
Pericrocotus sp., female (!) and I think it might be Pericrocotus flammeus looking at the range of Kerala. The other almost or identical Pericrocotus speciosus has probably a more northern range. But it definitely needs an Indian bird expert to take a look at it!! I am really not sure about the species!http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eQiVlPppLOA/Uu...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet_Min...http://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?a...http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/species...The taxonomy is sometimes conflicting, one was formerly considered as a subspecies from the other, but I do not remember which one...
Thanks again Dilan for the iD.
