Puha or Rauriki (also known as sow thistle or hare's thistle) is a green vegetable native to New Zealand and has been a staple of the Maori people. The young and crisp puha with a good even colouring provides a very good source of iron, fibre, folate, Vitamins A and C. An annual weed Its distinguishing features are that it has a succulent stem when it flowers with a milky sap.
Puha can be found growing wild and commonly found in crops, gardens and waste areas.

Great food, if you know where to collect it, and how to cook it, along with dandelions and minutina...Amazing with some olive oil, salt and lemon :)
I have never tasted it myself but I know people who say it is okay
I used to confuse Puha for Dandelion on occasion. Both are very similar, bite to the taste but enjoyable.
Nice pic!
