Description:

Small and very fast bird, a nightmare to photograph... Male (pictured) is of dark violet color, sometimes looks almost black, with head iridescent green, throat iridescent blue above the large purple spot on breast. Female, dull brownish, difficult to distinguish from other sunbirds females.

Habitat:

Seen in what was remaining of tropical forest bordering the coast of Atlantic ocean.
