Description:

Bracket fungus that express its fruit body as perennial conks and generally hoof-shaped. The lower surface consists in the youngest layer; brown velvety with pores. Older and upper layer are turning white and later black, woody and cracked.

Habitat:

Growing in boreal forest, mostly tamarack, black spruce and some dediceous trees.
