Cynomys gunnisoni
A gray brown prairie dog that stands about a foot tall.Appear to be the same color all over, although the stomach may be lighter.
I saw these while traveling through Arizona near the Grand Canyon.
As a former farmer I see them as a definite danger to livestock. However, the size and community of their "towns" is remarkable.
