Blue Eyes Lacewing

Nymphes myrmeleonoides

Description:

up to 50 mm? easily identified by the posture and the antenna

Habitat:

These were found year after year in one leafy shaded spot against the top of a fence where some dead branches hung. The area was all under well established eucalypts and was not often mown or disturbed

Notes:

Night Flyers I believe. They would fly off in a cloud after dusk. I never saw one resting on it's own
