This was a large, brown beetle. It was one inch long, and one half of an inch wide. The thorax and the fore-wings, was a brown color. It also had two black dots, on each side of the fore-wings. The fore-wings, were smooth and glossy. It had, six, brown, jointed legs. It had a head, thorax, and an abdomen. It also had, two compound eyes, and two, segmented antennae. Beetles, are a group of insects, which are biologically classified, in the order Coleoptera. The Coleoptera, includes more species, than any other order, constituting almost twenty five per cent, of all known types of animal life-forms. About forty per cent, of all described insect species, are beetles. ( about 400,000 species) The diversity of beetles, is very wide. They are found in all major habitats, except marine and the polar regions. All insect bodies, are divided into three sections: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. Beetles are endopterygotes, they undergo complete metamorphosis. A single female, may lay from several dozen, to several thousand eggs, during her lifetime. Beetle-pollinated flowers, are usually large, greenish, or off-white in color, and heavily scented. The larva, is usually the principal feeding stage, of the beetle lifecycle. It had four wings. It had two, fore-wings, and two, hind-wings.

I went outside, at 7:00 a.m. in the morning, and I saw a large, brown beetle, resting on a concrete wall, right above the front door, of my house.
